From the book: PRAYER, Finding the Heart's True Home by Richard J. Foster. "We pass from thinking of God as part of our life to the realization the we are part of His life. Wondrously and mysteriously God moves from the periphery of our prayer experience to the center. A conversation of the heart takes place, a transformation of the spirit." Pray that God has moved to the center of our
prayers. Converse with God this week with your heart. ~ Frances

Pick a Name and Pray – We all have people we are asked to pray for. We all have people we pray for just because. We all have people we continually pray for. We also have people who just come to mind and we pray for without even knowing why. With all the names we are given it can become over whelming, so pick a name to focus on each day. Make them special for the day and pray for them in a special way. Get creative with their special prayer person for the day. You could let them know with a text prayer or write them a prayer note. Call them and pray with them over the phone, whatever God leads you to do for that special person He gave you to pray for. Each day pick someone to be your special person to pray for. Pick a name and pray for them all day. ~ Frances

Grumpy dough...
I feel like my household has been a little on the grumpy side lately,
so I decided to make some playdough and add essential oils to it.
I used wild orange, but any citrus blend like lemon, lime, grapefruit, or orange is very uplifting to energize the mind and body. Sounded perfect for my family!
Gather your ingredients:
3 cups of flour (I used fresh milled hard white. It's all I had.)
2 Tbsp oil
3/4 cup salt
3 Tbsp cream of tartar
1 1/2 cup boiling water
10-20 drops of essential oil
food coloring
1. Start by stirring together your salt, flour, cream of tartar and oil in a large bowl.
2. Add the boiling water and keep stirring till it gets a little stiff, then use your hands to knead mixture until it forms into dough.
3. Once its mixed pretty good and has cooled down, add essential oil and food coloring. Knead the dough until the dye is thoroughly mixed in. It may take a bit of arm strength but keep it up!
Once your done, its playdough time for the whole family! Let the giggles begin!
You could even use lavender essential oil to create a relaxing environment while your kids play.
Don't forget to store playdough in air tight container!

Power of the Simple Prayer! This came from listening to Joyce Meyers. Prayer should be like breathing, something we do constantly. A constant fellowship with God. Not something we do when we need God, but something we do before we need Him. Prayers of stability, more faith, learning, patience, love…. Pray the simplest prayer of all “Jesus”. Do you believe in the power of His name? Demons shutter and flee when His name is spoken! Believing makes prayer powerful no matter how simple the prayer is. Pray a simple prayer. ~ Frances

Tongue Depressors and Prayers? I got this idea from my daughter. Write names of family, school teachers, and friends; one name on each tongue depressor. Place them upright in a container on the dining room table. With each meal; each person at the table will pick one and pray for that person. You can do this at meal time or any time you walk past the container. It is an easy way for children to learn to pray for others. They will learn to pray for someone just to pray for them, not because something is wrong. They will also learn to pray for their siblings when they pick their names! If the kids are old enough to write, have them write the names on the sticks of people they want to add. This will get them to start thinking of people they can pray for. It also is a way to show kids how God will give them just the right name each and every time. It is all God when you see which names are picked at random and why God wanted that person prayed up. Pray tongue depressors! ~ Frances

Let’s pray to serve the Lord in any way He calls us to serve. Pray Romans 12:11, to not be lazy and to serve the Lord enthusiastically! Where is God calling the church to serve in our community? Where is God calling you to serve? As much as I enjoy my retirement, I know there is no retirement from serving the Lord. He has something for each of us to do even if we cannot leave our bed. I learned this from Miss Fannie who could not get out of her bed even to sit in a chair, yet she was doing a Bible study with the young man who came in to clean her floors at the nursing home. What is another way you can serve the Lord and is one of the most powerful ways we can serve Him? Prayer! And we do not have to leave the bed, our house, or any excuse not to serve the Lord with our prayers! Pray about serving the Lord and He just might be asking you to pray for someone. ~ Frances

Pray for lessons learned from our failures. First we are to confess our sins when God reveals them to us. Then we are to refocus on God, deal with the problem, and move on to what God wants us to do. Sunday we learned that with each repentance comes stronger faith and with stronger faith, God will reveal what else we are to repent. It is a continuous cycle, never ending, if we want to grow closer to Him. God wants the cycle of sin, repentance, and forgiveness to strengthen us not weaken us. God is eager to give us cleansing, forgiveness, and strength, the only way to lose is to give up. Pray that we will learn from our sins. Pray that we will ask for repentance and grow closer to God. Pray to never give up, but to become stronger in the faith. Pray that we will depend on God with absolute obedience to be sure of the victory He has promised. ~ Frances

Ch...ch...ch...chia
I'm sure you have heard of these little seeds. I have heard of them but it was from YEARS ago and that jingle comes to mind every time. Chia pets!
I did not realize you could eat them and how healthy they are for you!
These tiny little seeds are packed with fiber, which means it keeps them fuller
longer and provides more energy. Chia seeds also have a small percentage
of protein, many essential vitamins and minerals, like potassium and
calcium, and a very high amount of omega-3. The seeds actually do
contain extractable oil, a reason why the Aztecs called the seeds chian or oily.
Some additional benefits of eating chia seeds include:
- Feeling full and losing weight without starving
- Balancing blood sugar levels
- Help prevent diverticulosis and diverticulitis
- Add healthy omega-3 oil to your diet
- Feel more energized all day long
- Bake with less fat
- Age defying antioxidants
- Reduces cravings for particular unhealthy foods
- Adds a flavorful punch
- Saves you money
Are you ready to try them?
Here is a EASY way to make your jam!
Only need 3 ingredients, fruit of your choice (I am using blueberries), agave, and chia seeds.
1. Put 1 cup of fruit of your choice (you can use fresh or frozen) into pot on stove and heat on medium to low for about 5 minutes. Then mash fruit with potato masher.
2. Stir in 4 tablespoons of agave (You could certainly use less or more depending on sweetness you desire) along with 3 tablespoons of chia seeds. Cook on low temp until it thickens, usually in about 5 minutes. Continue to stir so the jam doesnt stick to pot.
3. Remove from pot and pour into jar and let it cool. It's ready to eat!
Try it just as it is or on some homemade bread or mix it in some plain greek yogurt. It is delish any way you choose to eat it!

101 Uses for doTERRA Introductory Kit
Lemon, Peppermint & Lavender
Let's start with Lemon:
Next is Peppermint:
Last is Lavender:
Target
Acne, at the Source. Bacteria thrive in sebaceous glands that over
produce sebum…that waxy stuff that can be associated with acne. Lavender helps
balance sebum and control break outs.
Let's start with Lemon:
Home Use
1.
A Cure for Laundry Neglect. Lemon essential oil takes out ALL odor when
you forget and leave your load of laundry in the washer way too long!
2.
Tame Oozy, Sappy Trees. Whether the sap is on your carpet, clothes or
seeped into your skin, lemon oil is excellent for removing pine gum and tree
sap.
3.
Stop Grease in its Tracks. You just fixed your bike. Your hands are black
and greasy. Soap alone won’t remove the grease, but lemon oil mixed with your
soap will. Lemon oil is a great de-greaser!
4.
Disinfect the Disgusting. You can add lemon oil to a spray bottle of water
and attack what may be living in your range hood, on your tables, countertops
and other surfaces. For some extra chemical-free firepower, a little vinegar is
a traditional favorite.
5.
Lose the Gas Mask. When you clean the gunky build up in your shower, do you
practically have to wear a gas mask to survive the fumes? Go gas mask free and
clean with lemon oil. Just a small amount of lemon oil will go a long way in
removing hard water build up.
6.
Nourish Your Leathers. Whether you ride a Harley in style or cherish the
patina of your leather sofa at home, your leathers are not maintenance free.
Use a lemon oil soaked cloth to preserve them, and prevent leather from
splitting.
7.
High Ho Silver. A lemon oil treated cloth is a great remedy for the early
stages of tarnish on silver or other metals. You may not eat on silver every
day, but bracelets, earrings, necklaces often need some love.
8.
Deactivate the Sticky. Lemon oil can help you avert a hair cutting crisis
the next time you deal with gum in hair. Got kids with obsessive addictions to
stickers or temporary tattoos? Works for those too. Not for wide receivers.
9.
Love Your Luster. Bring your furniture back to life with lemon oil! Just
add a few drops of lemon oil to olive oil for a non-toxic furniture polish.
Lemon oil leaves a beautiful shine, prevents fine wood finishes from drying
out, and replaces lost moisture in antique woods as it penetrates worn
finishes.
10.
De-Smudge Your Stainless. You don’t need to hunt down that “single use”
stainless steel cleaner anymore. Multi-use lemon oil is great for cleaning
stainless steel appliances. You’ll love the way stainless looks and smells!
11.
Clean Granite or Porous Stone. What is living in the pores of your
natural stone counters or floors? Lemon oil cleans deeply, seeps into stone and
leaves you with a “real fresh lemons” aroma, rather than that fake lemon
chemical smell.
12.
Energize your Brush. If your toothbrush seems a bit tired, add a drop
of lemon and peppermint oils to chase away that run-down feeling.
13.

training … it all adds up to an less than desirable aroma. Diffuse or spray
lemon oil and neutralize odors at their source!
14.

Lemon oil lifts scuff marks in remarkable ways!
15.

old. Things don’t see the light of day. Chase away that “old smell” and inject
new energy with a good lemon oil wipe down.
16.Stop
Cutting Board Bacteria Palooza. Cutting boards can harbor bacteria in your
kitchen. Nobody wants to taste the chemicals you have in your cleaning
closet, yet most people love the taste of lemon!
17.
Control an Aphid Invasion, Naturally. Aphids — those pesky little
bugs that dine on your roses and other plants. Lemon oil (or peppermint)
with water in a garden spray bottle are a natural pesticide that kills aphids
and their larvae on contact, but leave your plants looking lovely.
18.
Spot-Free Dishes. Add a few drops of lemon oil to your dishwasher soap
container with each load. Your dishes will come out looking like new…
spot-free!
19.

and could use a boost, add lemon oil to your detergent, soak overnight, wash,
dry and your kitchen will smell so much better!
Cooking & Food
